Morning Cup of Joe – August 11, 2011

Celebrate others successes and watch how the tables turn.

Many people make the cardinal mistake of comparing their blessings to others. Understand that we are all uniquely blessed with specific talents and gifts to be used for the betterment of mankind. When we compare our blessings to others, our blessings will never seem enough.

In addition, comparing your blessings to others only distracts you from focusing on your own gifts. Be thankful for the blessings you currently have and not the ones you wish you had. While you are focused on what you don’t have; your gifts remain unwrapped and your potential untapped.

It takes a special person to celebrate others successes as if they were their own. When you celebrate others unselfishly, your celebration is inevitable. By default, many people respond to others successes with jealousy and envy. Some may even hope and pray that you don’t succeed. While this may true, continue to genuinely support and celebrate others successes often.

Like my father used to say, “Don’t you worry; your day will soon come.”

To The Top!

  1. Love this! It is so true JP – when we can sincerely be happy for someone else’s success and/or personal gain, not wonder why we dont have what they have or “seem to have” and unselfishly give of ourself to help and support others, we are already blessed!
