Morning Cup of Joe – HOPE

Would you like to know what keeps me going every day? The thing that has allowed me to be disciplined, motivated and focused. The thing that encourages me to go the extra mile and helps me believe that no matter what happens it will all work out in the end. This very thing is what has afforded me so many opportunities to improve myself and accept the fact that quitting will never be an option. The “thing” I speak of is hope.

There are individuals who have the necessary resources, tools and support system to be successful yet will almost always miss the mark. In most cases it’s due to the lack of hope and faith. The lack of hope increases the chances of a failed dream. Hope is a powerful thing. Don’t believe me? Hope is what elected the first African-American President of the United States. Hope is what gave the freedom fighters strength to stand up for what they felt was right. Hope is what allowed Harriet Tubman to create the Underground Railroad and lead countless slaves to freedom. That is the power of hope.

Having hope in the future is truly what has gotten you to this point and is certainly what will get you to the next. Well, that and a praying grandmother. If you don’t have faith that tomorrow will be better, you will shorten your days. By shortening your days I mean that you can never fully maximize nor recognize opportunities if you have no faith that they will come to pass. The sooner you understand that hope is an essential piece to the success puzzle, the sooner you will benefit from its power. Hope alone will only get you so far, you must also work hard to change your circumstances. No matter what is going on in your life, have hope that it will improve and it absolutely will.

The better life you seek is closer than you think; hopefully you won’t give up before you find it.

To The Top!
