Morning Cup of Joe – Perfect Practice

Research now shows that the lack of natural talent is irrelevant to great success. This is great news for all of those individuals who thought they couldn’t do something because they lacked talent. There are millions of excuses created daily as to why we continue to fall short of reaching our goals. Now that we know natural talent is irrelevant to great success; what’s the secret, you ask? It is good ole fashion hard work coupled with painful and demanding practice.

The old adage “Practice Makes Perfect” is 100% accurate. The more time you spend practicing to perfect your craft the more perfect it will become. Remember when we all first learned how to ride a bicycle? Unless you are Lance Armstrong, you most likely experienced many failed attempts and/or had to wear training wheels and protective head gear a bit longer than you hoped. Nonetheless, you practiced and practiced until you got it down. Although you may not have ridden a bicycle in a short while, you can still hop on the next one smoking and ride with ease. That’s the power of practice.

Your dreams and goals follow a similar pattern. In order for you to realize your dreams and accomplish your goals you must work at it daily. Inch by inch, piece by piece, if you continue to work at it you will eventually get what you’ve been searching for. Michael Jordan is a perfect example of someone who diligently practiced until he arguably perfected the game of basketball. Practice until you have perfected the game of accomplishing your goals then practice some more. Each day commit several productive hours focused on achieving your dreams.

“When you are not practicing, remember, someone somewhere is practicing, and when you meet him he will win.” – Ed Macauley
