Morning Cup of Joe – Trim The Fat

If you follow the Olympics, you will notice that in any and all of the different sports competitions the athletes are in peak form. I want to focus on the track athletes for a moment as I parallel their success to your inevitable success. The Olympian athletes participating in the track competition are sleek in form and are able to run like the wind because of it. In life, the person who wants to run the fastest must trim the fat.

There are people in your life who are holding you back from reaching your full potential. The gold medal is yours once you remove the weight they are putting on you; which is invariably slowing you down. Imagine one of these athletes competing in a race while holding a teammate on their back; the chances of them winning that race are slim to none. Much like your life, the chances of you succeeding while carrying excess or dead weight are just as slim. You are responsible for your own success.

Can you win the gold medal in the game of life while so many are trying to pull you in the wrong direction? No, you cannot. You must first free yourself of negative and lethargic people who do not share the same goals, values and vision as you. Olympic runners are the very best in the world and they compete against the very best. If you want to win, you have to compete against the best. If you want to win, you have to condition your mind and body to do so. Much like Olympians condition their minds and bodies to be in tip-top form to ensure that they win the race, so should you.

No one is going to carry you across the finish line. You shouldn’t expect it and neither should anyone else expect you to carry them. Drop the dead weight and you’ll win the race.

To The Top!
