Morning Cup of Joe – Success Is Not Easy

If experiencing success was easy, everyone would be successful. While most of our definitions of success vary, we can all agree that it takes extreme hard work, dedication, commitment and drive to experience it. Understand that nothing worth having ever comes easily, including but certainly not limited to success. In fact, most people treat things they didn’t have to work for with less regard than things they had to actually earn. If you work hard for it, you will better understand its value.

Success is defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. The very first step to being successful is to clearly understand your aim. What are you reaching for? How will you know once you’ve found it? You must set clear and measurable goals for yourself. Be clear that no goal is out of bounds. Over 110 years ago, the Wright brothers’ goal was to build an apparatus that could fly. Everyone doubted that this was possible because they had never seen it themselves. Did that stop them from moving forward? It certainly did not. Your goals are not out of bounds. If you can dream it, you can absolutely achieve it.

You must be willing to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes in order to experience success. You must maintain a “can do” attitude at all times. Understand that some external forces will have nothing but negative things to say about you reaching your goals, which is implicitly why I urge you to keep your aims to yourself. You are responsible for accomplishing your personal goals and fulfilling your purpose. Set goals and fight like hell until you reach them. When you start experiencing setbacks, it only means you are that much closer to being successful.

Success goes to the people who never consider quitting as an option.
