Ever since I moved to a metropolitan city I have been trying to get better acquainted with everything it has to offer. From the array of entertainment to its close replication to the city that never sleeps, this city has so much to offer. Another advantage of living in a city is the public transportation system; that’s if it is reliable. This city has a very good public transportation system and I’ve begun to take full advantage of it recently.
Last night as I left a board meeting I began to walk to the nearest bus stop to catch the bus home after a long day. This is not uncommon for folks to rely on the bus even at the latest of hours. As I approached the bus stop I began to think to myself how difficult it was to catch the bus as opposed to being able to drive everywhere. I started to think about how hard it was to catch a bus until I got closer and noticed a man who called that bus stop home.
Every single day of your life thank God for his mercy. As I was complaining to myself about catching the bus, this man was calling that bus stop home while sleeping with the elements. My heart was heavy and it usually is whenever my eyes see unfortunate situations like he was in. I didn’t care about how he got there I just wanted to figure out a way to get him out. Then I thought to myself, he is someone’s son. My perspective immediately changed and I was simply thankful for a roof over my head, food to eat, friends and family who care enough to call and most of all a God who has never forsaken me.
Do not for one second forget about the blessings you receive on a daily basis. Thank God for everything you have, everything you don’t and everything you will have. He continues to bless us even though sometimes I know we don’t deserve it.
To The Top!
