Morning Cup of Joe – Meet Me Halfway

It has been said that eighty percent of success is just showing up. Well, I beg to differ. In my opinion, I believe that number is closer to one hundred; one hundred percent of success is showing up. Do you have to work to experience the level of success you are expecting? Of course you do. Do you have to have unwavering faith that it will show up? Certainly. However, if you do not show up then you will not have the opportunity to experience any of the aforementioned. Opportunities come to those who aren’t afraid to search for them. Go out and claim what is rightfully yours.

There is absolutely no time like the present, don’t wait until tomorrow to do what you can get done today. You have got to show up. I have found that much of my success comes from being at the right place at the right time. One of the greatest measures of success can be attributed to simply showing up. Are there days when I just don’t feel like it? Yes. Are there times where I wished I didn’t have to go to a particular event or function? Absolutely. But then I think about the blessing or opportunity that could be waiting on me once I arrive and that gets me motivated rather quickly. Showing up has never disappointed me and neither will it disappoint you.

The beauty of opportunities is that you never know when or where they will meet you, which is precisely why it is important to show up. Some opportunities are disguised as pitfalls. It’s up to you to mold it into what you think it should be. One of my favorite quotes by Anne Lamott summarizes the importance of showing up; “Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don’t give up.” Friend, I want you to show up, wait, watch and work while maintaining the understanding that your opportunity and blessing will always meet you half way.

  1. The Word of God tells us ” By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, MOVED with FEAR, prepared an ark to the saving of his house..” IT is my belief to walk in faith- trusting and obeying God’s commandments and as we do this we shall at best be at the right (appointed) place at the right time ( appointed)! Our confidence in all things we seek shall abide in us motivating us to move when we need to and “show up” as we are called!
