I’m sure you’ve heard the popular proverb ‘Never look a gift horse in the mouth’, right? Well, what it simply means is that you ought to be thankful for the gift you receive, no matter what or how good you may think it is. Historically speaking, when someone gave a horse away as a gift one way to indicate whether or not the horse was healthy was to look inside its mouth. The reason why the proverb warns against looking inside the mouth of the horse that was given to you as a gift is because it is seen as rude to the giver of the gift. Simply, questioning the value of something received by luck, blessing, prayer or chance is unwise. God works the same way when answering prayers.
Anyway God blesses you, you ought to be satisfied. I have seen too many people question the blessings they receive from God wondering why they weren’t blessed with one thing over another. One thing you must understand about blessings is that they all lead to where you want to be. The destination is the final point at which you will arrive and the initial blessing provides fuel for the journey. If you ask God for a Mercedes Benz and He blesses you with an 83’ Ford Escort you ought to be satisfied. You ought to be satisfied because you have transportation. You ought to be satisfied because the old clunker may be what will help you arrive at the brand new car. Be satisfied with your blessings.
All too often we pray to God and make requests for Him to answer specific prayers while ignoring the way He answers them. God answers prayers, I am living proof. If you have options, thank God for that because most people in the world do not. This message is for those of you who are wondering whether the blessing you have is sufficient enough or up to your standards. The blessings you have are meant for you to create more. The blessings you have are not to be questioned. Be thankful for everything you have, everything you don’t and everything you will.
