It’s quite amazing how much you can get done when you discipline yourself and focus on being a better you. I started this hundred day challenge just a few days ago and I’m already seeing results. I know some of you may be skeptics and thinking to yourself how can you see results in just a few days? Well, its quite simple actually, let me explain.

First, I unequivocally believe in the prayers I pray every morning and the connection I have with God. I expect God to hear me and expect God to act. Secondly, I work like crazy to make sure that my prayers are answered. For those of you who believe and have actually witnessed miracles as I have, you fully understand that something amazing happens in between the prayer and the work which allows the stars to align in such a way that your dreams comes true and your goals are accomplished.

One of the things I meditate on and pray for are incredible opportunities to build my speaking career that will blow my mind when they come. Understand that God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than you can even fathom…and pretty quickly too if I may say so myself. Yesterday, I received a random email from a major management company who received my information from one of their clients who heard me speak at a recent conference and said they would like to represent me. Although I expect miracles and incredible opportunities to continue to flow in my direction, I was floored!

I had no clue that it would happen so soon, so fast. Do not be misled, there have been things that I’ve hoped and prayed for that didn’t come. I have to believe that part of the reason was the fact that I expected God to do ALL of the work and all I had to do was “make the ask.” I am wise enough, through experience, to understand that if you pray prayers they mean absolutely nothing if you’re not willing to put in the work to make sure that they come true.

This morning, I had a meeting with the Central Union Mission Executive Director; I serve on their board of directors through the Emerging Leaders program sponsored by United Way. I had about 20 minutes to spare and had skipped breakfast after my workout so I decided to stop and grab some oatmeal and water from a French bakery. It took every ounce of discipline in me to not buy that buttery croissant that I swear was calling my name. Every ounce but I made it.

As I exited the revolving doors of Union Station for my 7 minute walk to my meeting, a man asked if I could buy him a cup of coffee. I turned and said, “Sure, when I come back this way I’ll get you that coffee.” I walk about 30 yards and hear a still small voice say “Turn around and help him.” So I did. I pulled out a $20 dollar bill and said, “I think this can buy you a couple of cups of coffee. God bless you.” Stunned he turns to me and says, “Wow! Is this for real? Are you serious?” I said, “Yes, it’s a gift from God.”

I am more fortunate than most to have been blessed with an understanding that we are all connected and I certainly can’t take this “stuff” with me so why not give? It is my duty to give to my fellow man. What these 100 days of gratitude will teach me, I think I’m learning already. How are you giving back? What do you do when you hear that voice telling you to stop and give or help? Give because your heart is in it, not because you expect something in return.

I’ll be sharing bits and pieces of my 100 Day plan throughout these messages. I hope it inspires you to be a better you.

To The Top!
