100 Days to a Better You! – Day 12

Day 12 –

We live in a world where instant gratification has become the norm. People want things as quickly as possible with the least amount of effort; I’m guilty of this as well. However, I have learned that in order to experience significant and lasting growth we must accept the fact that it happens over time, it doesn’t happen overnight.

I’m trying to wrap my mind around what good, if any, comes from receiving something quickly without working hard for it. I can’t think of one thing. And even if you can think of something, I guarantee you that as quickly as that thing comes is as quickly as it will leave. The gratification may be instant but it will never be lasting.

One of the key ingredients to accomplishing the must outcomes on your 100 day plan is patience. The two P’s most critical to finishing your 100 day plan are “persistence” and “patience.” For our purposes, we’re going to focus more on patience.

Much like you, I can’t wait until day 100. As I review my plan and stare in the mirror looking for signs of progress, I realize that I want the benefits of day 100 right now. I also realize that it’s unrealistic and progress certainly doesn’t work that way. Not only do I want the benefits of day 100 today, I have neglected to understand or admit to the fact that it’s going to take a full 100 days of consistent effort before any real progress is made or any goals are accomplished. That takes an incredible amount of self-discipline and a healthy dose of patience.

You are only one decision away from realizing the difference between finishing this 100 day plan strong and not finishing at all. Decide right now to fully commit to finishing the plan. You will experience days when you don’t feel like dealing with the plan and doing what’s necessary, I challenge you to remember why you started and jump back on the horse and keep going because the finish line is closer than you think.

Stick with the plan and remain patient. Be proud of the incremental steps you’re taking. Believe me when I tell you, progress is being made. You may not see it yet but others do. You may not feel it yet but others do. You may not believe it yet but you’re making a believer out of others.

9 days until we’re in the 70’s!

To The Top!
