Morning Cup of Joe – Rock Bottom

To experience depression is to experience one of the lowest, if not the lowest, emotion of them all. Being depressed means that you have reached a point where you have given up hope on mostly everything in your life; your physical and spiritual health as well as your relationships suffer immensely. Your family and social life suffers and worst of all, you suffer. When you are at a point where you think, feel and believe that life has nothing more to offer, simply step back and reevaluate your situation. If you are on this side of the dirt, there is always hope.

Once you hit rock bottom, the only direction you can go is up. Remember that nothing happens by accident; even our trials and tribulations are set up in such a way to strengthen a particular proverbial muscle. In essence, we go through trials in our lives as a means to show the world that one can overcome tragedy. Simply, we are all here to serve as testimonies. It is imperative that you understand the importance of overcoming your obstacles so that you can be an example for others. Some people are strong because they draw on the strength of others; subscribing to the thought that “if s/he can do it, so can I”. If you overcoming an obstacle serves as an example of what’s possible, simply thank God for the opportunity.

I have been fortunate enough to experience the bottom. I am even more fortunate to learn the simple lesson and understanding that from that point on it can only get better; that’s what I kept telling myself. Along my journey, I have lost many worldly possessions including homes, automobiles and other “stuff”. Once I came to the realization that I am not my “stuff”, my world opened up to new possibilities. I no longer worked hard to possess worldly things; I simply worked hard to possess a greater sense of happiness and a greater sense of awareness.

Why do you think you are going through your trial? I’ll tell you why. For one, it is because God has specifically chosen you. Be thankful and know that you can and will make it through, especially if you believe that you can. Keep fighting and don’t stop believing in the impossible; miracles do happen.

Morning Cup of Joe – Sticktoitiveness

When you set out to accomplish a goal it is critically important that you stick with it and see it through to completion. Now, re-read the first sentence a few more times. Most of the time when we take the initiative to start something, it is almost certain that we are going to be met with obstacles; some of which we cannot avoid. The goal is to simply focus on what matters most; finishing and finishing strong. Remember, it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish that matters most.

It costs you absolutely nothing to create a goal nor does it cost you anything to have the desire to pursuit a dream. The cost that you must consider when you are attempting to make your dreams come true is the price you are willing to pay to make certain that they do. Sweat equity is what you must be willing to invest in order to see a positive end result. Your goals are truly an arm’s reach away but you cannot get to them if you’re sitting down. Stand up and chase your dreams. Do not stop until you get them and even after that, keep going.

The road to success will seem long and at times bumpy but commit to memory the fact that you were born to win. I firmly believe that you were not put on this earth to lose. You were put on this earth to make an impact on the world around you. We all have a purpose in life; the goal is to discover yours then share it with the world. Do not think about the journey, simply focus on the destination. It doesn’t matter how you get there, just get there.

Remember, anyone can set a goal but it takes a winner to complete one.

Morning Cup of Joe – Endurance

Everything happens as it is designed to happen. I believe that our paths are predestined yet the journey is ours to determine. Simply, the route we take to get to the end result may vary based on the obstacles we have to overcome along the way. During our journey, we will be faced will countless “forks in the road”; turning left will yield a particular set of results which would differ if you made a right turn. The goal is to keep driving no matter which side you choose.

Learn to recognize challenges ahead of time so that you can develop a solid plan of attack. Your challenges will look the same, especially if you haven’t learned from them. In some cases, it is a test of endurance. The Endurance Test simply tests your ability to outlast your opponent; in this case, your opponent is your problems. Endurance is the key that will unlock the door to your potential. Understand that God doesn’t make mistakes. And since He doesn’t make mistakes, it is imperative that you learn how to outlast your problems. He will never give you more than you can bear.

Our lives are not as puzzling as some may think. I believe that we assist in the creation of a majority of our own problems; sort of like a self-inflicted wound. We know what pains and troubles us yet many of us prefer to stew in our problems until it boils over instead of doing something about it. Many folks know “how” to overcome an obstacle yet they refuse to take action; an unexplainable phenomenon. We must not wait until it is too late, we must put forth maximum effort in order to produce outstanding results and we must act now.

Quitting is not an option. When you feel like giving up, think about the reason you got in the fight in the first place.
