Morning Cup of Joe – Stock Value

No one in the world possesses the power to make you better, only you can do that. No one in the world has the ability to tear you down unless you give them permission. There isn’t a soul in the entire universe who can upgrade you; you alone are responsible for your own upgrades. Stop trying to determine your value based on what others think and feel about you. What others think about you is none of your concern.

Where you are today is where you have chosen to be. Certainly our circumstances have something to do with it but I strongly believe that the individual choices we’ve made up to this point is exactly what has gotten us this far. Most of us are where we are by choice not by circumstance. Good choices yield good results. Bad choices, well you know exactly the repercussions of your bad choices and how far those poor choices have gotten you.

At all times focus on self-improvement. Always ask yourself, “How can I get better?”. After a loss, any loss, we must examine why we experienced this loss. We must try to understand where we went wrong and what we are willing to do to improve ourselves so that we don’t continue to experience similar results. Start taking more responsibility for your current circumstances. After all, it is the choices that you’ve chosen to make, good or bad, that has lead you to where you currently are.

Stop allowing others to determine the value of your life; take back the control you have freely given to others. You deserve nothing but the best, don’t you?

Morning Cup of Joe – Recognize Your Brilliance

20130723-072320.jpg

Sometimes it’s important to simply give yourself a “pat on the back”. Due to humility, many of us don’t give our accomplishments the recognition they deserve. In many cases, you may not be recognized at all for the great works you are doing or have done yet that should not stop you from giving your best every single time. You are solely responsible for recognizing and rewarding your own accomplishments; we should not wait nor count on anyone else to do it for us.

There will be things that you will do which will create a sense of certainty that you will receive an award yet the award may never come. Certainly, there are things you have done in the past that was reward worthy yet not one person recognized you or your efforts. While we should never do something for the sake of recognition, it is imperative that we understand that your reward may not come in the form of a trophy or certificate. The reward may very well be the satisfaction of a good deed.

It is imperative that we not wait for someone else to recognize us for our efforts. Learn to compliment yourself. Learn, understand and practice the importance of giving yourself daily affirmations that confirm your brilliance. Just because no one says “great job” doesn’t mean that you aren’t doing one. Understand and commit to memory that you are truly great and no trophy nor award will ever deny nor confirm this. You are what you think you are; a winner.

Morning Cup of Joe – Stock Options

20130604-063046.jpg

What is your stock value? Many people allow others to determine their stock value by simply regarding the situations that occur in their lives as strictly happenstance. Simply, while they may be the principle subject of a book about their lives, they are not the author; be the author of your own book. It can be very difficult to determine the value of a particular stock if we don’t know nor have adequate product knowledge enough to articulate the highlights of the commodity; the commodity in this case is you. You are the only person who can determine your worth; do not allow others to. Your worth is determined by your works. Yes, what you do in life determines the person you are.

If your stocks are in a holding pattern or have been decreasing overtime, this must mean that you haven’t adjusted with the times. Every great CEO of any corporation understands that in order to be successful they must not only be willing to do whatever it takes to ensure success but also invest countless hours into perfecting their product or service. If you want others to believe that you’re human stock value is of blue chip caliber, you’d better start investing time into increasing your value every day. The best way to increase your stock value is to dedicate time and effort into perfecting your craft. What are you good at? Accept the fact that high quality stocks are the ones that are forever evolving and are forever improving.

Lastly, your self-worth or human stock value is determined by the company you keep. If you are the best person in your group, you need to find a new group. Do not be misled; I am not saying to dump all of your underperforming friends, I am saying to reevaluate the people you allow to influence your value. Birds of a feather typically flock together. The people around you should constantly motivate you to be better than you already are; this is truly what raises your stock value. While most people are satisfied with the status quo, I am constantly looking for ways to better myself and so should you.

I challenge you to rededicate yourself to increasing your stock value by investing countless hours in improving yourself in every way on each and every day.

Morning Cup of Joe – The Outsiders

20130515-065705.jpg

No one should know what’s going on inside your house, especially if they’re standing on the outside. When you look at some people you can tell exactly what they are going through. Indeed some people are interested in the attention they may attract and others fall into the category of “misery loves company”. Wearing your feelings outwardly is obviously done at your discretion. The issue comes when you allow those feelings to dictate your actions and/or in-actions for that matter. For some strange reason, the opinions of others matter to us so much so that many of us live our lives based on this premise. That is something you must work on eliminating from the equation. What others think should not matter to you and it shouldn’t prevent you from striving to be your very best at all times. What others think about you is none of your concern.

Wearing your feelings outwardly is only one piece of this puzzle; another vital piece is your appearance. It is critically important that you look the part. Fake it ‘til you make it simply means look like you already have that which you are seeking and it will appear into your life more willingly. Please be clear, I’m not saying “perpetrate” or try to be something you are not. I am saying take pride in your appearance. I remember my father once saying; “It doesn’t matter how much money you have in your pockets, you need to look like you have a million dollars somewhere.” Wiser words have never spoken.

The final piece to the puzzle is your words. There is so much power in the spoken word. Your words are so powerful in fact that they can cut deeply and heal a broken heart simultaneously. What you say to yourself or your self-talk dictates how you interact and impact the world around you. Your words are powerful. Speak confidence into your life. Do not wait for others to compliment you, walk in the understanding that all God’s children are beautiful. What you show to the world is exactly what you can expect to attract back into your life.

Understand that you are in complete control over your own life so start acting like it.

Morning Cup of Joe – Best Things In Life

We live in a world where the value of things is greater than the value we place in people. As a society, we are increasingly shifting priorities from the days of old when we focused on strengthening family values to how many friends one can amass on Facebook. We are hooked on reality shows, computer gadgets and the monthly release of the newest version of the iPhone. We spend an innumerable amount of hours in front of the television thirsting over things we think we need in our lives and most of the time cannot afford. We have allowed our things to define us. It’s time for a change.

First understand that you are not your stuff. Your things are just that, things. Simply, you are defined by what you do with what you have not just what you have. Unfortunately, many people share different views. We are wrapped in a culture that promotes excess and a thought process that subscribes to “it will never be enough” attitude. Don’t believe me? How many pairs of shoes do you currently own? Certainly more than one yet that doesn’t prevent us from buying the next one we “have to have”. It is puzzling how some people own over a hundred pairs of shoes yet they only have two feet. Think about it.

Awards eventually tarnish, the ink on certificates and diplomas eventually wear off and new cars do eventually break down. Understand that your stuff can always be replaced but you cannot be. Know that you can always buy new things but there is not a price you can put on the value of your life. You can have all the land in the world and still be homeless. It is a fact that the best things in life aren’t things. I encourage you to refocus on what’s most important in this world, YOU!
