Morning Cup of Joe – Endurance

Everything happens as it is designed to happen. I believe that our paths are predestined yet the journey is ours to determine. Simply, the route we take to get to the end result may vary based on the obstacles we have to overcome along the way. During our journey, we will be faced will countless “forks in the road”; turning left will yield a particular set of results which would differ if you made a right turn. The goal is to keep driving no matter which side you choose.

Learn to recognize challenges ahead of time so that you can develop a solid plan of attack. Your challenges will look the same, especially if you haven’t learned from them. In some cases, it is a test of endurance. The Endurance Test simply tests your ability to outlast your opponent; in this case, your opponent is your problems. Endurance is the key that will unlock the door to your potential. Understand that God doesn’t make mistakes. And since He doesn’t make mistakes, it is imperative that you learn how to outlast your problems. He will never give you more than you can bear.

Our lives are not as puzzling as some may think. I believe that we assist in the creation of a majority of our own problems; sort of like a self-inflicted wound. We know what pains and troubles us yet many of us prefer to stew in our problems until it boils over instead of doing something about it. Many folks know “how” to overcome an obstacle yet they refuse to take action; an unexplainable phenomenon. We must not wait until it is too late, we must put forth maximum effort in order to produce outstanding results and we must act now.

Quitting is not an option. When you feel like giving up, think about the reason you got in the fight in the first place.

Morning Cup of Joe – Win or Go Home

The interesting thing about setting goals is that we really don’t know the exact date when we’ll accomplish them. Yet we continue to work diligently and hastily toward our goals. In many cases, we’ll never know the exact date because many people give up right before they get the thing they were working so feverishly for. Many people give up because they lack the necessary patience and perseverance required to accomplish any goal.

We would not have the joy of enjoying the world’s most famous fried chicken had Colonel Sanders given up on his dream of franchising his original recipe. Colonel Sanders was rejected over 1,000 times before he finally heard his first YES! It may take you 10,000 times or 10 times to accomplish your dreams, either way, do not give up. We can only imagine what would’ve been had he not persevered and remained disciplined enough to continue to keep trying until he received a favorable response.

How many of us have given up after hearing our first ‘No’? The key to accomplishing any goal is endurance. Are you willing to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes in order to realize your dreams? That is exactly what it takes to win. You must be willing to endure the tests in order to discover the answers. We appreciate that which we work the hardest for. If you want your dreams to come true, you must be willing to travel unchartered territory. You must be willing to outlast the criticism, doubt and negative energy freely offered by those who doubt you. You must be willing to accept the fact that nothing and no one will keep you from accomplishing your dreams.

Friendly Reminder: Every ‘No’ means you’re that much closer to a ‘Yes’.

Morning Cup of Joe – A Test of Endurance

The bright blurry red lines slowly cleared as they formed analog digits. As I made out the numbers, it seemed that it was a half-hour earlier than I normally wake up. The excitement I usually experience before writing the Morning Cup of Joe decided to take the day off. The sun isn’t shining as bright as it typically does. Today is one of the rare days that I don’t feel like writing or speaking.

Success requires you to keep going especially when you don’t feel like it. Success requires a daily deposit in the Bank of Effort. My life experience has taught me that success requires momentum building. For example, an avalanche is caused by a mass combination of individual snowflakes. One snowflake alone cannot create an avalanche but one snowflake alone can cause it. Similarly, one action alone is not going to make you successful but a combination of consistent actions will. Eventually, the next action you take will be the one that sets off an avalanche of success.

When you feel like giving up or just don’t feel like dealing with anything or anyone, I urge you to KEEP GOING. You never know when your momentum will lead to an avalanche of blessings so you must continue to work diligently towards your objectives. While I didn’t feel like writing this morning, I made sure that my feelings did not get in the way of achieving the ultimate goal; improving your life, one word at a time. While we may not know when our avalanche will lead to success in our endeavors, it is critically important that we add a snowflake daily.

Buddha once said “Endurance is one of the most difficult disciplines, but it is to the one who endures that the final victory comes.” Endurance is key. Victory should be expected at the beginning of every battle yet can only be claimed at the end. Finish what you’ve started.
