Morning Cup of Joe – Follow Your Heart

Follow Your Heart

I can guarantee without a shadow of a doubt that I am not the only one who has made a decision or decisions in the past that they regret. And it doesn’t necessarily have to be negative decisions but decisions that you wish you had a second chance at or the pleasure of having a proverbial reset button. Every decision we make, wrong or right, serves a light that illuminates our path.

I maintain an unequivocal belief that we are all equipped with an incredible sense of insight and intuition; I also believe that a majority of us don’t completely trust it. I can think back to several experiences in my life where I reached a fork in the road and was forced to make a decision; I think we all can. At the time, I did not know whether the decision I inevitably made would lead me on the path I’m currently on nor did I know if it would derail me altogether, yet I made a decision and didn’t look back. At the very least, make a decision. I decided to follow my heart.

During life’s beautiful journey, you will have countless people who will want to direct your path; that’s not their job to do. It doesn’t mean they don’t know where they’re going; it simply means that they don’t know where you are going. Only you can direct your path. In these instances, it is critically important that you trust yourself. People will give you advice because it doesn’t cost them anything. You are the one who has to live with the decision, not them. I’m not saying to not seek advice, I am saying to use it sparingly. Trust that the decisions you make will ultimately be to your benefit.

In the end, you only regret the chances you didn’t take, the moves you didn’t make, and the opportunities you didn’t pursue. Follow your heart; it will never lead you down the wrong path.

Morning Cup of Joe – Have A Little Faith

You may not be where you thought you’d be, but thank God you’re not where you used to be. We don’t thank Him enough for the progress we’ve made in our lives. There are so many of us who should not be here today but God sees it fit to give us an opportunity to leave a mark on the world. Don’t take His grace for granted.

Think back to a time when you either had a near death experience or a near miss; God was there. Or the time when you thought about taking your own life; God was there. Or the time when you thought you couldn’t go any further; God was there. He was there, He is here and He will never leave nor forsake you. He has proven to you time after time that He has your back; so believe in Him.

God hasn’t even begun to shower you with the overdue blessings that are meant specifically for you. First you must accept where you are today as where God wants you to be. Do not question your obstacle ladened journey, remain focused on your final destination. The fact that you are alive today is more than a blessing. God has big plans for you! Don’t stop believing that He will provide and He will never disappoint you. I am speaking from experience.

Morning Cup of Joe – Rock Bottom

To experience depression is to experience one of the lowest, if not the lowest, emotion of them all. Being depressed means that you have reached a point where you have given up hope on mostly everything in your life; your physical and spiritual health as well as your relationships suffer immensely. Your family and social life suffers and worst of all, you suffer. When you are at a point where you think, feel and believe that life has nothing more to offer, simply step back and reevaluate your situation. If you are on this side of the dirt, there is always hope.

Once you hit rock bottom, the only direction you can go is up. Remember that nothing happens by accident; even our trials and tribulations are set up in such a way to strengthen a particular proverbial muscle. In essence, we go through trials in our lives as a means to show the world that one can overcome tragedy. Simply, we are all here to serve as testimonies. It is imperative that you understand the importance of overcoming your obstacles so that you can be an example for others. Some people are strong because they draw on the strength of others; subscribing to the thought that “if s/he can do it, so can I”. If you overcoming an obstacle serves as an example of what’s possible, simply thank God for the opportunity.

I have been fortunate enough to experience the bottom. I am even more fortunate to learn the simple lesson and understanding that from that point on it can only get better; that’s what I kept telling myself. Along my journey, I have lost many worldly possessions including homes, automobiles and other “stuff”. Once I came to the realization that I am not my “stuff”, my world opened up to new possibilities. I no longer worked hard to possess worldly things; I simply worked hard to possess a greater sense of happiness and a greater sense of awareness.

Why do you think you are going through your trial? I’ll tell you why. For one, it is because God has specifically chosen you. Be thankful and know that you can and will make it through, especially if you believe that you can. Keep fighting and don’t stop believing in the impossible; miracles do happen.

Morning Cup of Joe – Order My Steps

No one, no thing and no cosmic force can deny what God has specifically for you. There are times when we pray a particular prayer to receive a specific blessing yet we do nothing to meet God half-way; that is true for most people who pray. They mistakenly believe that their prayers fall on deaf ears when in actuality God is waiting on them to make the first move. Don’t pray and sit, you must move. Understand that it is difficult for God to guide your steps if you are standing still.

Prayer does in fact change things yet taking action forces the prayer to come to realization. Another key component to meeting God half-way is your belief system. You must have unwavering belief that this prayer will come true in order for it to actually come true. You must have unequivocal faith that you will realize what you are praying and hoping God to make happen. Once you pray and start working towards that which you’ve prayed for, watch how fast God works. He can only work if you believe in your heart of hearts that He is able. Believe me, He is able.

No matter your circumstances, God can and will bring you through if you believe that He can. In my own journey, I have been fortunate to realize the power of God and I can almost guarantee that you too can share your testimonies. If He came through for you before, He is able to do it again. If He has helped you to believe that miracles can happen, He is capable of doing it again. Remember, what God has for you is for you. Believe that God can and He will never disappoint you.

Morning Cup of Joe – Mustard Seed Faith

Many of us worry about our problems to the point where we leave absolutely no room for the discovery of possible solutions. We will sit and marinate on the problem as if that will help it solve itself. Worrying does not solve anything, it just creates more problems. In addition, the sooner you start thinking of solutions, the sooner your healing can begin. Understand that it takes a little bit of faith to get God working on your side but first you have to believe that He is able and He will prove you right every time.

Understand that it does not take an incredible amount of faith to make your miracle happen. We all know that all you need is faith the size of a mustard seed to get God working. Did you know that mustard seeds are the smallest of all seeds? Simply, you don’t need a whole lot of faith to meet your miracle halfway. Understand that your faith should always be stronger than your circumstances; whatever they may be.

At the time of any crisis in our lives, our issue or problem always seems insurmountable. Your faith should tell you that God will always provide no matter what. You have to believe that God can and God always will. Do not be misled; you must do your part so He can do His. You are greater than the sum of your problems. You are a conqueror by virtue of the many obstacles you have had to overcome in your life.

If you continue to walk, God will direct your path. If you continue to believe and have faith that this too shall pass, it will indeed pass.

Morning Cup of Joe – This Too Shall Pass

For far too long we’ve held on to the idea that the calm comes before the storm. Scientifically, this does make sense. However, I write this note encouraging you to accept a new way of thinking concerning the aforementioned statement. Please understand that as it relates to your life, the calm does not necessarily come before the storm. In fact, the calm typically comes after the storm; all you have to do is continue to fight and choose to hold on.

Many of us have experienced and continue to experience tumultuous times riddled with trials & tribulations. Rarely do we consider the fact that sometimes we have to go through a storm before we can fully understand the satisfaction that comes with the calm. Simply, if you are currently experiencing a storm in your life, hold on to the idea that all storms eventually pass. Some will argue that the calm comes before and after the storm. I completely agree. Do not be misled, the calm you feel before the storm is meant to prepare you for what’s to come.

Understand that whatever it is you are going through is temporary; you must be willing to endure. Like the old adage says; “trouble don’t last always”. Understand that if you outlast your storm, only then will you be able to appreciate the sunshine that inevitably comes afterwards. Hopefully this new knowledge gives you comfort and understanding that your storm will pass and that your sun will shine again. Make a decision right now today to choose to outlast your storm.

Maintain a firm understanding that after the rain, the sun always shines. After the storm caused by your problems have passed, your sun will also shine. No storm nor problem is everlasting, this too shall pass.

Morning Cup of Joe – Miracle Mindset

Guess what? I am here to tell you that it is perfectly fine to believe in miracles. Yeah, I said it. In fact, I dare you to start believing in them a little more. The reason I say this is because if you don’t start expecting miracles to show up in your life they may never start appearing. I learned the easy way by expecting blessings and miracles to happen to me based on the seeds I sow.

When we respond to the world in a negative manner the world will reciprocally respond ten times more negatively. We have all experienced it and it isn’t fun. I challenge you to choose to be more positive about life’s beautiful possible outcomes. Miracles happen every day. In fact, the daily miracle you experience currently may not be as clear to you as it should be.

Understand that when you were born you instantly became a miracle. Be mindful of the fact that someone didn’t make it that morning. Hence the miracle you instantly became. Every day we are blessed to share with the rising sun is another day to celebrate the miracle that is your life.

Remember to Celebrate Daily!™

Morning Cup of Joe – God is Able

Let Go & Let God only after you have exhausted all of your options. Letting go and letting God simply means you have to know when your part ends and His part begins. It is imperative that you maintain an understanding that God is in complete control. The sooner you release control over to God, the sooner He can start working on your problem or situation. Do not be misled, letting go doesn’t mean completely releasing all responsibility to God; you must absolutely do whatever it takes to make sure that the outcome you are seeking is what you help make happen.

Obviously, God will never give you more than you can handle and we have countless examples in our lives where this is true. You must also know that He will never leave you nor forsake you. The strength and security of your faith will determine whether you overcome your obstacles or not. Letting God simply means trusting God to make a way out of seemingly no way. Maintain the unwavering faith and believe that He is able and you will never be disappointed. However, faith without works is dead. Not only is it important that you have faith that God will make a way but you must also work towards that which you seek. Just like you can’t do it alone, neither can He; do your part.

Take a moment to reflect back to when He created a miracle in your life. Think back to a point in your life when you thought no hope was left and even considered quitting as an option but he came through like a clutch player in the 9th inning. God made a way before and is capable of doing it again. The fact that you are reading this is proof of one thing, you are alive. And since you are alive, understand that you are greater than the sum of your problems. Understand that you have in your corner a King that has never lost a battle; you don’t have to wait until the going gets tough to reach over and tag Him in. Do it now!

He is more than able.

Morning Cup of Joe – Just Another Day

We are all built differently. Our minds, our motivations and inspirations differentiate from one another. How we process particular functions are different. We are all individually wired to produce the explicit results and outcomes we have become accustomed to producing. We are all independently created with specific talents and specific gifts. Although we breathe the same air and share the same space, we are not the same.

While we are not the same, we are still one. Learn to condition your mind to believe that your blessings are preordained. The outcomes you have in your life are a result of your actions and/or inaction. Your results are based on what you contribute to the overall picture. Never compare yourself to the best others can do, but to the best you can do. The measure of success is intended to be independently defined. You cannot realistically compare someone else’s results to your efforts. That’s like comparing apples to broccoli; no comparison.

The sooner you realize that we are all uniquely blessed, the sooner you can stop comparing your blessings with the next persons. What you consider just another day, a terminal patient considers a miracle. You have what it takes to be what you want to be so don’t take anything for granted including this day. If you continue to focus your energy and attention on others instead of yourself, they will continue to be ahead of you. Focus on yourself, maximize your potential and walk in the understanding that God made you in his perfect image.

You are blessed, be a blessing to others.
